Biography

I was born in Texas and raised in Arizona.  I met my husband at the University of Arizona in a History of the Reformation class.  We were married in 1990 at Calvary Chapel Tucson.  We Moved to Arlington, Texas in 1994 when my husband took a job with a former co-worker. We have 5 children- 3 in college, 1 in high school, and 1 in Jr. High.  My love of teaching blossomed when we began homeschooling years ago.  When my kids got a little older I returned to college to finish my degree at Texas Woman's University while I simultaneously substituted for about 2 years in KISD.   After I graduated from TWU I enrolled in the ECAP program.  I was fortunate to be hired as a TA at a local Jr. High. I worked in their SPED department for 2 years while taking as many state tests as I ECAP felt I was qualified to take.  My hard work and determination eventually paid-off when I was offered a resource teaching position at the same school.  This has been a tough first year- so much to learn and do all at once, and I am still not quite done!  But I am feeling the hope and excitement of the finish line nearing, so much hard work toward a goal soon to be fully realized- earning my permanent teaching certification!
