Teaching Plot Diagramming: The Three Little Pigs

I am currently a Resource ELAR teacher in the AISD district. I teach 7th grade reading and writing. The challenge in lesson planning for this class is reinforcing/reteaching prerequisite ELAR skills in a creative and memorable way that supports student progress. I have found picture books to be especially straight forward and useful for introducing many 7th grade concepts but in a simplified way resource students remember.

These are some great ideas. Using a picture book to teach plot diagramming is a useful tool. I particularly enjoyed the Story Vine idea to represent chronological events. This helps students to remember the story. Thanks for the links.
